The beauty of fashion is it allows us to be a blank canvas which we can creatively build on.

These are my inspirations.

Karl you can be my DJ any day.

KARL, KL’s new fashion collection, is being marketed as an “accessible” line for women. Items range from $25 to $1,200.

Net-a-porter has a one-month exclusivity deal before the collection is offered on Lagerfeld-branded sites. This marks the German designers first internet-only collection.

All i’ve got to say is that black and white vest and those metallic pants have my name written all over them.

Gaga, your gritty, naked and bedazzled ways never cease to amaze. Your mint prediction as the color for Spring is also spot on. I wonder where you got that? I’m guessing you were in attendance at a few of the Spring 2012 runway shows. Perfect color pairing for a tan, I welcome it. Here’s a taste…

There was a heightened sense of energy in Toronto this week with the International Film Festival in town. With the combination of the perfect Fall weather, the 4am extended bar curfew, and the smorgasbord of brilliant directors and celebrities, I was very happy to be back in my favorite city.

Starting with the serious minimalist, Tilda Swinton. She literally floated across the stage Friday night in her Haider Ackermann 2011 Fall ensemble. She was there hosting the North American Premiere of “We Need to Talk about Kevin”. The 5’10” statuesque flawless blonde had a huge presence, not only at the Winter Garden Theatre, but as the role as Eva. Oscar worthy performance….check!

Keira Knightley was at TIFF on Saturday night to promote her latest movie, “A Dangerous Method.” in an Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown.

Sarah Gadon also joined Keira Knightley on the red carpet Sat night for the “A Dangerous Method” Premiere.

Salma Hayek wore an Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 Bronze embellished dress, triple buckle belt and gold metalic jaw skull clutch to the premiere of “Americano”.

Leighton Meester wore a Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 White Broiderie Anglais shirt & skirt, Cigar belt, Skull clutch and Ocelot print shoes to the premiere of ‘Oranges’.

Chloe Moretz was promoting her new movie “Hick”. The fourteen-year old actress sported a sheer and leather Valentino Pre-Fall 2011 dress.

Kirsten Dunst, wearing Prada and Chanel, attended the premiere of her new movie “Melancholia” yesterday.

Daphne Guinness, you Savage Beast

The unveiling of the late Alexander McQueen’s exhibit, Savage Beast, came and went at the MET in NYC but his legacy continues to live on.

Harpers Bazaar UK featured another tribute to the great McQueen with Daphne Guinness, Kate Moss and Annebelle Neilson. The fashion world still misses you!

Daphne Guinness, the heiress of the famous Irish family who makes Guinness beer, is probably best known for being the heroin of avant-garde fashion, self-described artist, and close friend/muse of McQueen. The gorgeous tall blonde made a name for herself in recent years by declaring her interest in fashion and clothing as one continuous work of performance art inspired by the likes of McQueen.

I’m more into Olivier Theyskens then I am Theory but here’s some looks from the Resort Fall 2011 collection that i’d be happy to sport. His vision for the line is ‘cool’, someone just needs to tell Olivier he’s cool.

Happy Birthday Mary Kate & Ashley

Now officially 25, these tiny Fashion Moguls have nailed it with their two very different and very successful clothing lines. You’ve got to give it to them, they’ve worked their ass off to build this multi-million dollar empire.

The Row (named after Savile Row) began with a search for the perfect white t-shirt in 2006. Lucky for the twins they just made one and it stuck. Their line (with the exception of some of the handbags) is manufactured in Chelsea and LA and they’re huge advocates for the garment center and keeping fashion production local. For S/S 2011, they’ve gone Parisian but the staples are all there -basic, minimal and wildly expensive.

Elizabeth and James (named after the Twin’s siblings), targets a larger audience with the more affordable well-rounded line. The Spring 2011 Look Book is light, feminine and for the first time introduces a line of sunglasses in addition to the apparel, jewelry and shoes. Welcome bright eyes.

Coachella 306

In honor of Coachella tickets going on sale this week, let’s reflect on some of the rad looks from this years festival to transition us into summer. Already can’t wait for next year…..only 306 days left!
